The Tallyman - Counting the Corpses

Hey hey hey,

I really wanted the tallyman to look like he was covered in blood dripped skin that had been flayed from victims of nurgles rot, almost like the skin fell off in sheets from terrified screaming civilians. This miniature sat unpainted for quite a while as it is deceptively detailed for such a small miniature! Rather than using any rust effect powder I tried to quite precisely paint rust on to the sickle up top and I'm very pleased with how that look turned out.

Peace out,

Mortarion - The Plague Reaper - Father of Decay - Complete

Hey hey hey,

I'm back from working in San Diego for a while and here we are with the big daddy all complete. I'm pretty pleased with how he has come out. I feel like he shows a slight shift towards where I want to be regarding competing in the big leagues of painting, but still a long way to go along that road.

I really enjoyed doing all the various fleshtones and such like; though at the end of the day I am glad to not have him sat on my bed side table (only place I had space for his wings) glowering at me...

I have some more Death Guard coming up, as well as some Aeldari and a secret projects for Mr Winters.

I'll also be detailing what my entries for next years Warhammer Fest Golden Demon will be! I have being drawing ideas and sketches abound and I'll go through a few of them in written form soon. Feedback on the concept before I get started will inevitably make the composition better.

Peace out,

Rob

Three Times Foetid Blight Drones and Finished Typhus!

Before the End Cometh Rot,

Greetings true believers! I have actually now completed by Primaris Army the Sons of Wrath such that each model is at the same standard and I now need to go that bit further with them and apply all the decals and battle damage as well as jet glow to them, before they can be considered truly complete. I will have pictures of the whole army in due course, as well as some close ups of the Plasma Inceptors and Primaris ancient that are the latest and final (for now) additions to the force.

But for now they are going to sit on a sunny holiday in the gray foam of their carry case as I pursue additional projects both new (Mmmmm forgebane) and old!

At the present time I am trying to clear the final remnants of my work for Winters Seo and thus we have here the finished Typhus, now complete with blood, pus, guts and gore! In addition I have the final 3 foetid blight drones that have bee in my possession for some time. Two of these are not the ones that came in the Dark Imperium Box Set but are the stand alone set, and by golly they have some beautiful alternative face plates! These ones are also equipped with the Blight Launchers rather than the Plague Spitters. So much fun to be had with them.

Apologies for the somewhat shoddy camerawork! These were taken in a great hurry before they were packed away and I ran for a train to drop them off at the esteemed Winters Seo's house (and engage in warfare of course!). I tried quite hard with all 7 of the blight drones that I painted to vary the scheme enough that they don't just look like replicates of each other. Mostly through fleshtone, but also horn colour and where I placed the brass versus steel coloured metals.

Stay tuned for some close ups of the Primaris as well as a video overview of the Primaris AND all of of the Dark Angels.

Peace out,

Rob

MOAR Nurgle - The Rot Continues

Hi there,

Soooo I may have said that there would be Ravenwing today... BUT I ended up forgetting to take pictures of it as I was brought low by general fatigue and just snoozed most of the weekend away... I regret nothing. That said, the Ravenwing is complete barring 3 models that have sat sulking for some time now... But as they are being picked up soon in March, they are on the painting block this week, now that I have caught up on some much needed sleep.

In lieu of the Ravenwing I have some more Nurgle that has not seen the light of day yet (or a bath) so have at this for the time being. On my honour, Ravenwing will appear on Thursday, and there will be lots of them!

Peace out,

Rob

Nurgley Wurgley Woo - Special Characters and Plague Burst Crawler

The rot god says hi,

Just a quick look at some special characters and an additional plague burst crawler I painted recently. Coming up on Monday we will actually have some RAVENWING!! My goodness, the times we live in.

All the Nurgle special characters are really delightful sculpts, the Tallyman in particular, who has yet to be painted is festooned with delicious detail and some adorable nurglings to boot. I am on the final stretch with this force and indeed with the Ravenwing.

Peace out,

Rob
