Dark Angels Scout Squad/Recon Squad - Complete

Hi Everybody!

So I have had a really productive weekend and I have finished off my scouts! After some comments on google+ (which is great by the way if you like cool 40k groups!) I decided to gillie suit up my scouts and make them absolutely proper camouflaged. I'm really happy with the result, I think they look like they would actually be sneaky... you know for 7ft superhumans anyway....

Because I opted to use the Anvil industry recon squad for my 40k Dark Angels and because I am using the same basing scheme for my 30k Dark Angels, these guys will double up nicely for 30k recon marines which is cool!

I think they look the business anyway! Thoughts always appreciated :)

Peace out,

Rob

Sniper Scouts from Anvil Industry WIP

Hi peoples,

I started work on the scouts for my Dark Angels last for some relief from line highlighting. I want these guys to look "sensible" so I am going for very muted colours with a dark grey armour and fuzzy camo. I also want all the metal areas to look greased as if to prevent light glaring off them. These guys still need some basecoating and then a wash before I bring up the armour a little and do the camo lightly again.

I'm happy with them so far so I will keep going and see how they turn out, but its thin layers so I can always strip em off if I'm not happy.

I also got round to drybrushing the doors of my drop pod for the devastors with dark angels green. The main body will stay black though, I have still to decide on the door emblems for now. The devastator sergeant his also awaiting his paint job!

Peace out,

Rob

Black Templar Neophytes - Finished

Hello readers!

After my recent ramblings were back to a good old honest hobby post. I've finished up the first 10 of my 20 neophytes that will make up my large crusade squads in my Black Templar army.

I have to admit that I am desperate to get this army done so it can sit pretty and be played with. With that in mind I haven't put the same effort into these as I have in my other recent endeavours such as all my Blood Angels models, so I have skipped painting a few details here and there. On the whole though I am pleased with how they have turned out and look forward to finishing the other 10 in the future.

The Templars are likely to take a back seat for a month or two though as the tournament I was going to take them too has been cancelled and postponed to next year, this is a real shame as I thought the rule set was excellent. If you want to read it, head over to "From the Fang" blogspot and search for fluffageddon. I encourage people to have an open mind and consider it for next year if you are in the UK.

Anyway, enough prattle, have some pictures!

I'm currently building and painting my flyer base for my Storm Raven so hopefully some pictures of that will grace my blog in the next day or two, I've tried to make a little diorama out of it, but we will see how well that turns out!!

Thanks for tuning in again so see my offerings,

Peace out,

Rob
