A quick fire update today (aren't they all these days with me....)! Over the weekend I got quite a lot of prep work done on some models for the death throes of my current Dark Angels Commission, but the models I actually got some decent work done on were the Ravenwing attack bike and both multi melta gunners for the attack bike and the land speeder.
I should have a few WIP shots of some of the remaining Terminators and Deathwing Knight soon as well as starting work on the blasted dreadnoughts! I say blasted as I still have to magnetise their arms, 4 for each! But I can say with confidence now that the end is in sight... The Land Raiders and Dark Talon are the only big things left to do that I haven't touched but I have visualised where paint is going on them so I should be able to start them up fairly quickly.
Also expect to see the Callidus assassin popping up soon :)
Peace out,
Rob
Nice work as always pal - bet you're glad to be getting close to the end of the commission aren't you, I always get excited when a project nears completion (not that I've ever finished an army, is there even such a thing?)
ReplyDeleteYes! I have thoroughly enjoyed my foray in commission painting thus far, but I will scale it back after I've completed all my current ones I think, just keep enough to have a nice steady cash injection into the hobby, but with everything on my plate its taken over a little bit!
DeleteThey look fantastic Rob, I like the red on the speeder as it gives a good pop to the rest of the model. Your black and white areas are really well done.
ReplyDeleteCheers Joe! I really struggle with the 'pure' black/white look, so I was relived that the client gave me wide berth on picking the specifics of the scheme
DeleteThose are looking well indeed.
ReplyDeleteHave you thought of doing anything inside the barrells of the meltas?
They still need heat treating work and the inside of the barrels were going to just be blackened out to look deep. What did you have in mind mate :)?
DeleteI made a decision very early on in my Dark Angels collection *not* to use green in the paint scheme. As such, I am fairly biased (critical) about it, but these figures look wonderful. In particular, the use of metallics and lighter spot colours on the Landspeeder are really cool. Bravo!
ReplyDeleteI think too often the Green becomes a bright green for, well the DARK angels! So I lke to keep the brightness quite low and just use it as a spot colour. Glad you approve :)
