Solar Auxilia Volkite Veletaris - 8 done!

Afternoon all,

I haven't had much time for painting hobby recently due to real life stuff, so its nice to chuck these guys up for you to see. The sergeant and vox are sat on my desk to do next but I'm real pleased how these have turned out. After this squad is finished I have to paint another squad of volkite, the command squad and the legate commander and all the infantry will be done!

Peace out,

Rob

    1. Thanks man :) I've recently found that reducing the number of colours I use for a scheme the better it looks, sort of forcing me to think about placement etc a lot more

  3. They look fantastic Rob. That green glow is amazing. I may have missed it in a previous post, but what colors do you use to make it pop?

    1. Cheers Joe! I haven't put it up yet but I will be doing a how-to-guide at some point for a whole mini but in brief its:

Warpstone glow, warboss green, moot green, moot green:white scars 50:50, white scars

Some time I throw in a tiny touch of yriel yellow mixed with moot green 50:50 before the final white, but just a light touch.

Before I drybrush with the moot green I fine line the glowiest areas with moot green directly. I repeat this with white before the moot green white scars 50:50 mix too.

      Hope that helps mate :)

    3. Oh shit forgot an important bit! I always wash OSL with the right tone of glaze and thats what really makes it pop at the end.

So when your done with the whole thing wash it with waywatchers green glaze. A green wash will give you a similar-ish result but the glaze gives it a very slight shine which make it "glow" even more

  4. These look sweet. Love the visor glow and weapon glow. Contrasts great with the dark scheme.
