The Tallyman - Counting the Corpses

Hey hey hey,

I really wanted the tallyman to look like he was covered in blood dripped skin that had been flayed from victims of nurgles rot, almost like the skin fell off in sheets from terrified screaming civilians. This miniature sat unpainted for quite a while as it is deceptively detailed for such a small miniature! Rather than using any rust effect powder I tried to quite precisely paint rust on to the sickle up top and I'm very pleased with how that look turned out.

Peace out,

Rob

Mortarion - The Plague Reaper - Father of Decay - Complete

Hey hey hey,

I'm back from working in San Diego for a while and here we are with the big daddy all complete. I'm pretty pleased with how he has come out. I feel like he shows a slight shift towards where I want to be regarding competing in the big leagues of painting, but still a long way to go along that road.

I really enjoyed doing all the various fleshtones and such like; though at the end of the day I am glad to not have him sat on my bed side table (only place I had space for his wings) glowering at me...

I have some more Death Guard coming up, as well as some Aeldari and a secret projects for Mr Winters.

I'll also be detailing what my entries for next years Warhammer Fest Golden Demon will be! I have being drawing ideas and sketches abound and I'll go through a few of them in written form soon. Feedback on the concept before I get started will inevitably make the composition better.

Peace out,

Rob

Winters SEO and Moarhammer - Deployment Zone TV is Coming!!!

Hey all,

I'm a huge fan of watching battle reports whilst I paint, I love that immersion into the hobby, surrounding myself with the narrative and tactics of the game that I love - 40k. If you love that too, then I am sure that Winters SEO and Moarhammer are unlikely to be new names to you.

But recently these to lovely fellas have joined (unholy) forces to produce a collaborative effort to bring more wonderful battle reports to our screens. Both of these chaps have the narrative joy of the game nailed down, as well as dabbling in the warpcraft that is more competitive play as well.

We are talking beautiful terrain, beautiful armies, and epic narration of the clash of fists and fury. Not just that but a wonderful discussion of the hobby at large, behind the scenes discussion as well as tips, tactics and painting advice.

I cannot recommend these guys enough, and I will be jumping on board and supporting them with my hard earned cash to help make it a success :) If you fancy supporting them as well, then on JUNE 1st 2018 Deployment Zone TV will go live. You can find this through the following site address:

www.deploymentzone.tv

Not a functioning link obviously as it isn't live yet, but please do check out the video above, check out Winters SEO and Moarhammer on youtube. Like and subscribe if it's your kind of things and give Deployment Zone a go.

Peace out,

Rob

Hotel Room Painting - Cypher the Fallen Angel

Hey hey hey,

I am currently working in Dundee doing experiments over night, so I have had plenty of time on my hands. I decided to bring a miniature up that I have had laying around primed for some time now and a bag of paints. Thus behold! Cypher the Fallen Angel.

He isn't finished yet, aside from the base, I need to do lots more work on the cloak to get it up to scratch. I'm aiming to make the cloak look somewhat ghostly, which is what I was trying for with his armour as well.

Peace out,

Rob

Decent of Plasma - Inceptors!

Hey hey hey,

You've already had a quick look at these guys in the No Retreat application post, but here are a few more shots of them. I changed the way I painted the plasma for these and ideally, I'd like to change up all the existing plasma to match. I'm not sure how much hassle that is going to be though to be honest.

I really need to crack on with the all my Inceptors and the jump pack HQ choices and get the glow of the engines done. I feel I should wait till I have added battle damage though as the glow will obviously go over that. So I think these will be first in line for a micro-sol/set session and sponge chipping!

Peace out,

Rob

Heidelbrach - Ancient of the Sons of Wrath

Hey hey hey,

Been a while since you first saw this guy. He had some bendy treatment on the old flag (Cheers Siph!) and is currently about 90% painted, still plenty to go on his flag in terms of highlights and the like, but getting there. Like all The Sons of Wrath he will need decals and battle damage adding after that mind.

Quite pleased with the look of the banner at the moment, just a shame it is pointing down :P...

Peace out,

Rob

The Aeldari Cometh!!

Hey hey hey,

So for those of you that are kind enough to read my blog with any regularity over the past 3 years, you'll remember that about a year ago or so (maybe a little more) I started putting together an Eldar/Aeldari army. Well that obviously went a little quiet with the release of 8th and getting stuck in with my Primaris army The Sons of Wrath, as well as rattling out Deathwing, Ravenwing and Deathguard to boot (Oh to be a butterfly).

Well, welly well well well! They return, with vengeance from a time long since past. I have actually been steadily accruing and building units here and there. The army is very much based around Wraith Constructs, and will as such be utilising the Iyanden craftworld trait. Here's a break down of what we have so far:

Wraithseer:

Wraithblades:

Wave Serpent 1:

Wraithlord 1:

Wraithlord 2:

Wraithknight:

I still need to purchase another Wave Serpent as well as 2 x Spiritseers and 15 x Rangers! If anyone wants to part with the older metal rangers for a reasonable price do let me know... I probably only actually need 1 x Spiritseer now due to the points cost increase in the recent FAQ, but I haven't yet checked that out.

These guys are going to be painted in this scheme:

Which is actually pretty simple to do, I just need to clear real life plate business and sit down for a weekend to make tracks really.

Peace out,

Rob
