Those That Whisper - Wraithknight & Army Shots

Hey hey hey,

I really love the posing of the Wraithknight, and I'm pretty happy with how the word turned out overall. I'm definitely going to get myself a bigger light box mind you to accommodate bigger miniatures, as there are definitely bigger ones coming...

Painting gems can really go do one though. Huff. 

The light was poor, but here are a few sub par shots of the whole army thus far on day 4 of the painting. Just under 2k in a spearhead detachment.

Those That Whisper - Warp Hunter

Hey hey hey,

I picked this Warp Hunter up for just £30 on ebay! Already built like most of the Aeldari stuff I got second hand, which was a big factor in getting it painted quickly, with minimal building to perform. Probably the only model in the army I will feel a little bit guilty fielding as it can really do a number on certain units (bye bye terminators). 

I think a did a better job with the gems on this guy than the other vehicles, but I overdid the black so it doesn't have that slight mettalic flavour bleeding through. Still it'll do the job as usual!

Those That Whisper - Wave Serpents

Hey hey hey,

To get the Wraithblades and the Spiritseer in to action as soon as possible we have two wave serpents! One of these has Scatter lasers because I bought it second hand. The other one did have an Aeldari missile launcher, but I had spare shuriken cannons to fix that. Again I wanted shuriken cannons so that the wave serpents can advance and get close to the enemy whilst still firing. Allowing the wraithblades to disembark and charge the turn after (hopefully). 

I'm sure I'll snap the scatter lasers off at some point!

Again, a super simple and basic paint scheme, designed to look effective on the tabletop, but not withstand this sort of close scrutiny to be honest! Still, does the job.

Those That Whisper - Aeldari Wraithlords

Hey hey hey,

Continuing to show you the Laksh'vron in all their glory, we have the two wraithlords up today. If I were to run this army more competitively, I would definitely not give them swords, but give them a full shuriken load out personally. But, I want this army to punch things in the face with pointy things a lot... Hence the wraithblades as opposed to wraithguard! 

Shuriken cannons on both of these as well as the catapults allows them to advance and still lay down fire, with that all important -3 AP on a 6 to wound. Tasty. Then sword time! 

I do wish that Wraithlords had 9 wounds so that they didn't degrade so much, but that is truly mitigated by the Iyanden craftworld trait (doubling wounds when calculatin degredation profile if you didn't know).

Those That Whisper - Aeldari - Spiritseer and Wraithseer

Hey hey hey,

To keep the army in theme, I obviously had to have a spiritseer, but I also decided to get myself a wraithseer, just because the model is cool and they can have a mahoosive gun!! The spiritseer's spiritmark ability will gel nicely with the wraithblades, making them even tastier in combat and will also have Empower/Enervate to help the wounds rolls as well. 

In an ideal world I would have liked to have spent a lot more time on the spiritseer's robes, but I'm happy enough that it will look OK on the tabletop, which was after all the point of painting these so quickly. I am really looking forward to my first game with this army which should be soon!

Aeldari Army - Wraithblades

Hey hey hey,

Having grown sick of having miniatures lying around being unbuilt and unpainted and ultimately unplayed, I decided to suck up my normal methods and just paint an army to a basic table top standard and take it to town for games! So the Aeldari/Eldar were the ones in the firing line for this treatment and quick and effective was the name of the game!

With that in mind, here are the Wraithblades for my craftworld army that will use Iyanden tactics. Though the craftworld is called Laksh'vron, translated roughly into high gothic as 'Those That Whisper'. 

Over the next week or so I will show you the rest of the army, that is 2k points and comprises of 17 or 18 miniature that were painted in 4 days of solid grind! I've also written a list for this army that will be at least 6k points when I am done!

2k of that is possibly in one model ;)
