Deathwing Dreadnoughts get some love

A very busy week for me and not been terribly well with one of those stomach bugs going around, hence not many hobby posts going up! Here is a quick look at a couple of Deathwing dreadnoughts that have been seeing some brush time. Absolutely loads to do on them though! All the arms will be getting painted separately after I decide how to make them interchangeable. I'm actually favouring just filing out the holes rather than magnetising right now.

Arbitrary Milestone - 3000 comments!

Hello!

Welcome to another self-congratulatory arbitrary milestone that I'm sure grips every fibre of your being with rapt attention!! I recently passed over 3000 comments on the blog and this, more than any other measure, makes me happy with how the blog is going. I love interacting with people who have taken the time to write a little something on one of my posts. 

Admittedly I have taken to bulk replying every 7-14 days for which I apologise! I really need to get on top of replying to comments better than I do currently. But I can assure you that I read and reply to every single one, so always check back if you are curious to see what I said :)

Darkfuture30k - Recommended Reading

Hey all :)

As many of you will know, one of my regular gaming partners and all round good guy is a chap called Ed. Ed owns a BEAUTIFUL word bearers army that you can see throughout this blog and he is also a real talent when its comes to writing personalised fluff and narrative battle reports. 

I am happy to report that Ed has started his own blog called Darkfuture30k and its already got some top notch content up there, particularly his latest post being a battle report between his Word Bearers and our mutual friend Toby's awesome World Eaters.

Game 3 vs Winters SEO - Coming Soon!

Hey gang,

So on Sunday I travelled to see Winters SEO for the third time and do battle with my Auxilia against his latest army - The Sons of Horus! It was, as usual, an absolutely cracking game with lots of laughter involved and delicious cheese and onion pastries. Mmmm. 

The game should be out in a few weeks which I will link to once its up, but for now here are just a few pics of the battlefield and the armies, you should be able to make out my finished Stormblade hiding in the corner ;)

Hopefully that has whetted your appetite for madness and mayhem!

Colour me Red and Purple - The Ynnari Come

Hi Gang,

So the main reason that I dropped out of 40k, other than a general swell in people playing what I would term unfluffy lists (at least in my meta), was that nothing about any of the current factions excited me well enough to persuade me that it was worth my investment of time and money. 

The Imperial Agents codes had me ruminating over lists as I think its a very well made fluffy 'codex' but it didn't make me jump in with both feet... The Gathering Storm on the other hand...

I have always loved the idea of both Cegorach and Ynnead (ee-nee-ad like Yggdrasil) and the birth of the Eldar god of the dead has got me frothing at the mouth to start an army. Oh yes, I will be a dirty Eldar player, though I am definitely hoping that they give you rules to make it Dark Eldar heavy. 

I don't know when I will have the capital to start this army, but I am hoping to have the book fairly soon after release and then have a 1200-1500 points army up and running by October. I am VERY excited by this. 

So back to 40k we go... Lets hope 8th edition is exciting as the rumours seem to hint at!

The Execution Force Assembles - Be Afraid... Very Afraid!

Good evening, this is the Inquisition speaking...

The High Lords of Terra have spoken following a report from Inquisitor Corr and the Emperor's finest killers have been released, a surgical scalpel to the bludgeoning hammer of the Astartes. The Execution Force!! 

Thoroughly enjoyed painting these and (somewhat annoyingly as they aren't mine!) I would say some of my best work is contained in these 4 miniatures. I am particularly proud of the Eversor assassin as a whole, though the hair of the Callidus assassin, the eyes of the Vindicare and the body suit of the Culexus stand out individually as things I am proud to call my work. 

I hope you enjoyed seeing the genesis of these guys and look forward to seeing some Night Lords crop up :)
