Deathwing and Ravenwing Army Overviews + My Stupid Voice

Hey all,

So this is a short video going over the whole Dark Angels commission that I painted up, consisting of Deathwing and Ravenwing. The total points value for the entire batch is around 5600 points! I'm quite pleased with how they turned out in the end.

Apologies for the slightly low lighting, I'm hoping to buy some better lighting soon-ish so that I can make more videos of this ilk. To that end, comments on the content and delivery would be welcomed. Apologies if I come off slightly weird, I'm certainly not a natural for this sort of media communication!!

Peace out,

Rob

Completed Deathwing Army Ready for 8th!

Hey all,

Today I will finally show you the finished Deathwing army that I have had for a while now. I was just needing to do some basing and they were complete, but it ended up getting put down the priorities list for some time! However they are all ready to rumble now in 8th Edition, and I can firmly say I never want to paint this damn scheme again!

That said I may feel the same way with the Ravenwing when I am done with them...

Full speed ahead (ahahha) with the Ravenwing now! I have been undercoating the sprues with a mind to doing a lot of the basic layers on the sprues. I wouldn't normally do this, but with so much to build and paint the same colour, I think it might save me a lot of time in the long run.

Tally ho!

Peace out,

Rob

Deathwing Landraider, Imperial Militia Walker and a Comparison!

Hey gang,

Some good work on finishing off the Deahwing Landraider this weekend, snugly fitted in between birthday activity for Serena (Laser Quest is a sweaty business..). Plus work on the final counts as Proteus with some snaps to show the size difference! Hoping to finish the land raider off and base the Deathwing fully tonight!

 From the Front

 From the Side

From Above

The Walkers are taller than the Phobos patter, but if you take the legs as the outer hull, they have largely the same footprint. You'd probably have issues with some tournaments for the dimensions, but I'm only going to be using these among friends primarily so no problem!

Peace out,

Rob

Hobby Space Bomb Site and Deathwing Land Raider - What a Difference a Day Makes

Hey ho,

Last night was one of those days when I looked at my desk and thought... I think I might be addicted... And I should really tidy this up! On my desk alone, we have Belisarius Cawl, 12 Imperial Militia, a mid-conversion Militia walkin Proteus, the Yncarne, a Culexus Assassin, a Wraithblade, Mortarion the Reaper and two Land Raiders!!

Yaaaaaay! Happy hobby space all round... But I will be tidying this up come the weekend I think! Saturday is going to be given over to tidying both the desk and also a few miniatures that are going to Warhammer Fest with me that just don't cut the mustard quite yet. The Yncarne's hair being one of those. Here's a few other snaps:

And in other news, you can see in the pictures above the progress I made last night on the second Deathwing Land Raider. Here's the last side by side picture I showed you:

And here is the side by side after an evening of work:

Obviously the lighting isn't as good! But I'm pleased with how far that came. All the highlights are needed now! Then I can work on the peripherals, once this beast is done, I just need to finish the bases off for the Deathwing termies and then you'll get a shot of the whole force :)

Peace out,

Rob

Deathwing Land Raiders - Something Old & Something New....

Hey all,

Just wanted to show you the difference between a finished Deathwing Land Raider and one that is just undercoated! Nothing too exciting, but it pleased me to look at how far a model comes :)

Peace out,

Rob

A Deathly Pet Project and Deathwing Land Raider

Hey y'all,

So I picked up Mortarion the Reaper from Heresy Trading on Facebook some time ago now. I had originally been planning to start a Deathguard force, but I decided that I was pushing my time and funds a little to hard with that endeavour! Especially since I have a chunk of Sisters of Silence lying in wait... I just need their vehicle to be released!!

But I have kept hold of him as a little painting project and I've decided to start work on him fairly soon, just little odds and sods in my idle time more than anything. I bought him without his scenic base and he was pre-built and undercoated so I still need to decided where I'm going with his colours and whether he needs to be re-under coated.

It is one oft he best Primarch models out there in my opinion and really gives off a sense of dread! I'm looking forward to laying some paint down on him very much. (Just noticed I'm missing an exhaust.... hopefully that is in his box somewhere!).

In other news I have got some way with all the gubbins that were missing from the Deathwing Land Raider in its last pictures. This one will be a crusader to make good use of the extra space and fill it full of terminators I'm sure!

Loads of odds and sods to do on this chap still. The lights will be getting some soft OSL added and I do need to retrospectively drill the bolters (my bad!), but overall its taking good shape :)

Peace out,

Rob

Deathwing Land Raider - WIP

How do!

As seems to be the usual case with me for the past long time (accurate!), its just another quick update of where I'm going with a project. I've put off painting these Land Raiders for the longest time as I really dislike painting large flat surfaces if I can help it. I find tanks in general one of the hardest things to paint convincingly and well in my repertoire.

Fortunately, the general style of the Deathwing in this commission has been one of the battle worn, so I felt a little more comfortable not having to produce a clean result! This took a couple of hours to produce, but obviously all the turrets and sponsons need to be done separately, plus there is still highlights to do on sections of this.

Hopefully the client will be happy with the worn look!

Also, apologies if you feel I am inundating you with too many posts! Please do comment if it begins to grate terribly. I have also set aside, Saturday morning to answer my back log of comments! So if you have commented in the past 2 weeks I will have answered in on Saturday :)

Peace out,

Rob
