Tartaros Terminator Winners!

Hey gang!

Thanks to everyone that reads my blog and enjoys the content and thanks also to everyone who takes the time to comment! Its been fun seeing everyone choose their favourite founding legion, traitor or loyal, I love a good fluff debate looking at the merits and flaws of each legion and faction beyond the astartes. You are always welcome to chuck me an email, even if you just want to shoot the breeze about background lore and all such things :)

Anyway, in the interest of fairness, below is a video of me generating the winners of one of three sets of 5 x Tartaros Terminators!

For those that don't like the video format, the winners are:

1 - NafNaf - an absolute gent with one of the most singularly beautiful armies I have ever seen, the Harlequin Danse Macabre. Well done Naf! You should be able to see his work on painting these Terminators as wset dogs over at Objective Secured, his blog :) 

2 - Chris Conway - Chris is a man after my own heart as he plans to paint these up as the last legion, which is all legions, the Alpha and the Omega. I am ALPHARIUS!

3 - Marc van Holst - All the way around the world, Marc is a regular all throughout the blogosphere and as nice as guy as you would be lucky to talk to! However he is opting for the Dark Angels so I guess that does count against his character ;) You can find Marc's work over at Old School Gaming! (I had a brain fart in the video and couldn't remember your blog title - sorry Marc!!!)

Thanks to everyone who entered and apologies if you didn't win! I'll be running a give away of lots of spellcrow bits and bobs later this month so if you stick around you might get lucky that time!

Blog Birthday Giveaway 2 - Its Tartaros Time!

Hey gang!

Tomorrow marks the 2nd Birthday of 30Kplus40K and I'll have some numbers up tomorrow talking about the journey that has taken me here, but for today I just wanted to let you know about a giveaway to mark the occasion :)

I have THREE sets of (plastic) Tartaros pattern terminator armour from the Burning of Prospero set to give away, so that everyone can join in on the Heresy train (it has noooo brakes). 

All you have to do to enter is follow the blog either through blogger or google plus AND comment below about which legion you'd paint them termies up as and why, if you think you've got an argument for why they are the best legion then test it in the realm of public angst ;)

On midnight Friday 7th April (GMT) the comments will close and I'll announce the winners on Saturday! You can enter from anywhere in the world so don't worry about being in New Zealand or the USA or anywhere else :)

400th Post Giveaway Winners!

Hello there!

This is the actual 400th post! 400 posts in 20 months makes me pretty gobsmacked and makes me question my general hobby and social habits a little... But I still appear to have friends and at least a sniff of a love interest so to hell with change! Like I've always said, I'd give up smoking but I'm no quitter...

Before I get on to the winners I thought I'd just point out that for giving away Rogue Trader models I decided to use the above piece of Rogue Trader era artwork, which I was reminded of by seeing the beautiful and immortal rendition of that fateful scene in diorama format whilst at Warhammer World on Sunday. Which you can see below!

Despite the obvious age of the miniatures style, the quality of building, posing and painting keeps this diorama looking as beautiful as the first time I laid eyes on it in print, such an iconic image in the background, the artwork and the circulated print of this diorama. Bloody brilliant. 

WINNERS!

I haven't responded to anyone's comments yet as I didn't want to add any level of bias to how people might write based on my comments, but rest assured I will go through and add full comments on all of them this week! Each one was great in one way or another, ranging from the comical and short to the (mostly it must be said) long and very well thought out! I was also glad to see a small number of familiar faces commenting rather than a big jump of people just coming on board to win something! Benefits of asking for effort I suppose!

I'll start with... the Assassin!

I was really surprised how in demand this guy was, don't get me wrong he's super cool, I just wasn't expecting it. That made this one the only prize that required real deliberation, being torn between giggles and prose for the winner! But the eventual winner was....

WESTRIDER!

Commiserations to those that didn't get him, hang around for another 4 months and I'll have something special on offer for the big blog birthday giveaway perhaps...

My personal favourite of the 3 only got one entry, but you made me laugh loud and long....

Technically the Avatar didn't receive any official entries which was very surprising given its relative rarity and price point. These regularly go for £30-50 on eBay and it is a beautiful model. Using my personal judgement, because its my blog and I can do what the hell I want (Mwahahaha!), the Avatar goes too

I loved that you went all in for fluff even without a chance to win it, so considering you missed out on the Assassin I thought your extra effort merited recognition :)

The 400 Post Give Away! Rogue Trader Style!

Hello!

This is actually my 398th post of the blog, but I thought it'd make more sense to introduce a giveaway which involves participation before the actual event itself! I started Blogging a year ago in April and as my post yesterday about blogging talks about, I have loved every minute of it! It has been a great boon to my hobby and really made me realise how much I both missed and love the hobby. 

I recently came into possession of 3 very interesting old metal miniatures from way back when in GW's illustrious, infamous, incompetent and illuminating history!

These came to me free, and though I could eBay them for a fairly tidy sum, I'd much rather spread the love and put them out in to the community that helps feed (i.e. you're all damn enablers!) my hobby frenzy and see some true love given to them :). Though you do have to follow me on blogger or google+ to enter :)

These models are:

A Rogue Trader Assassin circa 1989 (The year of my birth!)

A Freeboota Ork Captain

And finally an Avatar of the Harlequins!

I love all these models and winning them does come with conditions because of this! Firstly, how do you go about getting your hands on these goodies? For my first year blog giveaway I just asked for comments from anyone who subscribes to me on blogger or google+ and randomised the winners. But I thought I'd save that for the birthday giveaways and have a little more fun here!

For the model you want to win - and you can only pick one - write a tiny bit of fluff about them in the comments and I will select the ones I like most from the comments and send the lucky winner the model :) easy right!?

When I say fluff, you could write something funny, Grim Dark, ludicrous or even a poem that is instilled with the personality of the character you imagine the miniature to be. Don't feel constrained to proper grammar and all that, I ain't got 'nuffin against that like you's 'ere!? I certainly don't talk the way I write...

Blog Giveaway - And the Winners Are....

Good evening!

So after publishing the list of entrants earlier today I made a little video showing the prize draw for the winners about 15 minutes ago and here we are with my first blog based video! I'm afraid it was on my phone so its not exactly cinematic quality and you have to make do with my voice throughout but it should be a giggle anyway! The video should also hopefully dispel any notion that I just picked the winners, I don't think any of you would really think that of me, but its good to show it anyway!

Whilst this was very flattering I don't particularly see myself at that standard so they were all politely rebuffed for the time being. However I am open to being persuaded to take on a few small trial commissions at a very low price to test the waters without handling a lot of someones money.
