Drop Pod Progress - I hate drop pods

Afternoon my friends,

Progress has been incredibly slow on the drop pod, I just hate painting the things. Vehicles in general I struggle with, but drop pods are a personal hate. And I've only ever painted one of the damn things!!

So I've drybrushed the central struts, dybrushed the interior and done the detail colours on the door symbols. I need to add some additional silver to the outside of the struts and then I need to begin the long process of taping up the hazard chevrons on the doors :(

The the whole thing will get a wash of nuln oil all over before I start the intensely disgusting process of line highlighting the bugger! Apologies for the mini rant.

Peace out,

Rob

    1. They're fine if you glue the doors shut and simplify the hell out of your colour scheme. I think it takes me like 20-30 minutes to knock one out for my Space Wolves.

    2. A very fair point Nick!

@Westrider - can't do that man, once I've painted something and I'm happy with it like my death company drop pod, I just can't take shortcuts on the same thing as I know I will be angry at myself for not giving it my best. I am, if you hadn't noticed, somewhat self critical. Poor self esteem and all that!

  2. I feel your pain. I am *still* highlighting my Ravenwing bikes. It is some weird purgatory; I sit at my table and make black look lighter. A bit. Just on the edge. It's maddening :-)

    1. Haha ah yes, the painters lament, though your ravenwing are smashing looking when finished :)

  3. They are my least favourite model to paint. Line highlighting is an absolute nightmare. It makes me weep. I sympathise with your pain
