Scyllax Guardian-Automata - WIP

Hi guys and gals,

Just a quick update today on my Scyllax guardians. Lots of fiddly bits but fun enough so enjoy the pics and next time you see them they should be done :)

I'm particularly happy with how the yellow has come out on these guys so far, feels like it has a lot of nice depth to it.

peace out,

Rob

    1. Cheers :) Its multiple layers of seraphim sepia over a zenithal undercoat of white over black. Then I dry brush blend it back up using Averland-Yriel-Screaming Skull then I wash it again with seraphim to tie it all back together

    1. Thanks Disciple! It is always nice to hear people like my ramblings :)

I get a lot of hobby stuff done in spare 30 minutes I have here and there, plus I don't sleep very well so 4am hobbying is fairly common...

I actually bought the scyllax off a facebook trading group, but most of the arms got snapped off in shipping to me. Putting them back on was pretty fiddly I will say. I've looked up the components online and it seems pretty simple aside from the arms. I ended up just gluing them and hoping they looked OK when they were dry...

    1. Cheers chief! It definitely works better on models like this that have lots of raised boundaries and rivets for the wash to sit and the brush to pick out

    1. Now you mention it, it certainly does! I've been planning a stab at NMM some time in the future, maybe I'll start with gold...

  6. Looking well so far chief. Not a fan of the model itself, too fiddly.

    1. Agreed, arms were a right bugger to get back on after they broke off!
