Armillus Dynat and Autilon Skorr - Converted Alpha Legion

Goodo!

FINALLY! I give some love to my long overdue Alpha Legion Army. I am planning on having the whole army built and undercoated before the end of the June. Recently I sat down to convert Autilon Skorr for my Alphas and ended up building Armillus Dynat... Then I went back and built Autilon as well!

Armillus Dynat

Before I show the conversion I will show what the official model should like for Armillus:

And here is my conversion (keeping in my mind I don't do bare heads if I have the option)

I'm pretty pleased with how he looks in the end. Certainly the cloak gives him a more imposing presence... The right arm is a little "eh" but not so much I'm bothered.

Autilon Skorr

Now the official model for Autilon Skorr:

And my Conversion. I went heavy on the Executioner/Headhunter theme.

I really like the skull theme and his make shift little staff. Almost Chaplain like. Overall my favoured of the two conversion but I'm happy with both overall.

Coming Up

Coming soon I should have the Leviathan Dreadnought full built with weapon options magnetised, as well as the first Fire Raptor done. Then I just need the 20 veterans built and the second Fire Raptor too! The Veterans are already bagged up in their pieces (very organised of me) so shouldn't take long for them, but I am dreading building the second Fire Raptor!

  1. Really liking your take on Skorr, not a character I know much about but very imposing.

    1. All the Alpha legion characters are great because their names are just code names rather than an actual single person. I love the alphas!

    1. Oh noooo, I've still got another 15 veterans and a fire raptor to build AND then drill holes in everything that hasn't been battle damaged yet... hopefully start undercoating at the end of June though

  4. I really like your Dynat -- its much better than my first attempt! (http://warpstoneflux.blogspot.co.uk/2015/02/armillus-dynat.html) I think the cape makes such a huge difference -- its a magnificent addition to the dynamic of the miniature.

    1. See when building this I basically used the FW model and your conversion as my basis for how I wanted them to be! If I had the time, patience and your skill I would love a true scale army as well, your efforts on that half are superb matey!

  5. That "weapon on the ground, hilt in hand" pose is always kind of weird to me. I like everything else about both of them, tho.

    1. I originally had a model put together that had the sword or hammer on the waist and I just couldn't get it to work, then I re-read the fluff and decided to go with something similar to FW as the book goes out of its way to talk about Dynats arrogance so I can live with hammer on the ground if I look at it like he's just baiting people to attack him.

But yeah, totally get what you mean. Some poses that come out of GW/FW are just plain silly for things like this
